In the fourteenth episode of the "All Day Research" podcast, you can look forward to a role reversal. This time our host Lukas Ostermann had to face the questions of Prof. Dr. Juraj Somorovsky. Among other things, their conversation was about Lukas' volunteer work in the Computer Science Student Council and how students can get involved in higher education politics at the university.
Lukas Ostermann has been studying computer science at the University of Paderborn since 2017 and has been the student council chairman for computer science for two terms. Already in his school days, he was actively involved in the interests of his fellow students, for example in the student council. At the university level, he has been able to continue this passion: "It is still very important to me, because young people are often not heard in politics. So both at school and at university or at the state and federal political level, it is important to me to stand up for the interests of young people," explains Lukas Ostermann. Especially in view of the university elections currently taking place from July 4 - 7, Lukas urges all students to use his and their voice at the university political level.
The podcast was created in cooperation with the Institute for Computer Science and the Student Council for Computer Science. The aim is to give more insights into science and thereby bring students - especially those in the first semester - closer to the study, to arouse interest and to show how much fun research and the study of computer science at the University of Paderborn can be.
