The Electrical Engineering Podcast "Current Affairs": Episode 11 - Study frustration and study doubts
In the eleventh episode of the Electrical Engineering podcast "Current Affairs", Prof. Dr. Katrin Temmen talks to our host, Tim Hetkämper, about study frustration, study doubts and the numerous counselling and support services available.
In addition to her work as a professor, Prof. Dr. Katrin Temmen is also responsible for counselling students with frustration and doubts about their studies. Frustration and doubts are quite normal in a degree programme and occur for most students. Typical periods in Electrical Engineering are the first and second semesters around the exam periods. As learning and examinations are different to those at school, the changeover quickly leads to doubts about the choice of degree programme. Prof Dr Katrin Temmen recommends talking to fellow students about this and giving the university system a second chance after the first bad grade. If it turns out that the degree programme is not the right one after all, there are counselling services to help you change your degree programme. And even if studying itself is not for you, the university has offers to make it easier to switch to an apprenticeship.
This eleventh episode marks the end of the second season and we are looking forward to starting the third season soon with the beginning of the summer semester.
