Weierstraß-Prize for excellent teaching 2002

Mrs Prof. Domik offers lectures in computer science in the field of computer graphics, visualisation and image processing. In this connection, she campaigns for the education of non-mayor-computer scientists for this field. She also received very good feedback throughout the past years repeatedly. Mrs Domik is also committed to tasks beyond her teaching obligations. Here, she has served well by preparing excellent informational material, which is today used by many colleagues to inform pupils and new students.

For years, Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Rinkens maintains a top position in seminar feedbacks, for the overall impression of his lectures and can comfortably keep up with previous prize-winners. Especially, with the grade 1,73, which he received from the students for his lecture “Didaktik der Arithmetik” during ws 99/00. He is also evaluated with top marks for his lecture “Elemente der Geometrie” for teaching positions at secondary schools as well as primary schools. This lecture is especially worth mentioning, as he only made use of new media (of course without forgoing the blackboard and chalk).

Irina Dahlmann: her tutorials are no accessory matter for lectures but rather seminar-like presentations, in which she complements the topic and deepens them by reflected, well-proven and practice orientated examples for working with primary school children. During the tutorials she makes use of variegated styles, with which the primary school teacher can also work with at school. She always imports her own experience as a trainee teacher and therefor contributes to the preparation of the students for the phase of the initial teacher training. Everything she does, she does it with a high level of thought, own initiative, responsibility and a talent for organising.

  • Jan Hendrik Hausmann has definitely deserved the prize for the best couch for training groups because of his casual but competent way of conveying knowledge.
  • The group is great and will hopefully save my exam.
  • Hausmann is always motivated and sets a high focus on transmitting the knowledge and working style. In my opinion, he always manages this. He motivates the students to participate, he´s always funny!
  • Hausmann for Weierstraß! Competent, funny (!), tolerant and open minded!
