Weierstraß-Prize for excellent teaching 2012
PD Dr. Cornelia Kaiser from the institute Mathematics receives the Weierstraß-Prize, in recognition of her excellent lectures “Geometrie” and “Lineare Algebra 1”. Last-mentioned is one of the two entry-level courses of studies of mathematics. Many students find it very difficult. Nevertheless, the students praised the exceptional commitment with which Cornelia Kaiser responds to respective questions. Students also stated, that they feel taken care of and taken seriously. “Mrs Dr Kaiser is a unique lecturer. She invests a lot of time in her lectures and students. Absolutely praiseworthy.”
Dipl.-Ing. Dang Hai Tran Vu from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology receives the Weierstaß-Prize in recognition of his excellent lecturing. He gave tutorials for Communications Engineering and Digital Communication Systems. Die students especially highlighted, his talent to convey difficult topics in a clear and comprehensible manner. He knows the typical problems students usually have with learning the subject matters and deals with these problems. “Dipl.-Ing. Tran Vu is very competent and motivated. Moreover, he knows a lot of additional- and background information, which help broaden the comprehensibility.”
