Laudatory speech for Dr Hans Franzen
Dr Hans Franze receives this year's Weierstrass Teaching Award in the teaching category.
Dr Hans Franzen is a director of studies in the Algebra group of Prof. Burban at the Institute of Mathematics. Mr Franzen has been teaching "Linear Algebra 1 and 2" and "Linear Algebra for Computer Scientists" since the summer semester 2022. He receives the Weierstrass Teaching Award 2024 for the excellent evaluations of his lectures "Linear Algebra 2" and "Linear Algebra for Computer Scientists" in the winter semester 2022/23 and summer semester 2023. Students not only emphasise Mr Franzen's great commitment - the evaluations particularly praise his way of presenting complex contexts in an understandable way. Laudatory speech for Mr Markus Hennig
Mr Markus Hennig receives this year's Weierstrass Teaching Award in the category of exercise group leader.
Markus Hennig is an academic advisor in the department "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering" with Prof Mertsching at the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Mr Hennig is a "repeat offender" - in the best sense of the word. He received the award back in 2014 and has been the exercise group leader for the Bachelor's course "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering A" since 2011 and additionally for the Master's course "Digital Image Processing" since 2021. He received the Weierstrass Teaching Award in 2024 for the excellent grades he received for his tutorials on these courses. Students not only emphasise Mr Hennig's always friendly manner and patience - his explanatory skills are particularly praised in the evaluations.
