Welcome Days

Welcome to Paderborn University! We are looking forward to welcoming all our new students to our faculty. The Welcome Days are a great opportunity to find out all about the university and to meet all the important people you will be working with – both, academic and non-academic staff in your department as well as students who will be studying with you. This year the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics will provide a number of on-campus events for you to engage in community-building activities. The Welcome Days are a great time and place to meet other students who will also be starting their studies in the next semester. There, you will also have the opportunity to meet some of the people you might have to deal with while you will be studying here (like the people who can answer your questions related to studying at Paderborn University) and learn about the peculiarities of studying here (you may have heard that formalities are a thing in Germany, e.g.).

The Welcome Days will start on 1st of October at 9:30am in building O (https://www.uni-paderborn.de/en/university/how-to-get-here-campus-map) on the campus; look out for room hall O1.224. In the evening we will have a get together with students of the Master program from different semesters in a cool location in the city centre. On the second day, October 2, we will meet again at 10:00 but in a different place. We will start that day with a tour of the F building and have a guided tour through one of the world’s largest computer museums, the HNF (https://www.hnf.de/), afterwards. Please find the detailed program below.
