In this year's edition of the renowned "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects" (GRAS), also known as the "Shanghai Subject Ranking", Paderborn University once again achieves very good rankings.
On 17 November 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics at Paderborn University, Prof. Dr Jürgen Klüners, welcomed guests to the inaugural lecture by Prof. Dr Karin Binder (Didactics of Mathematics) and Junior Prof. Dr Jonas Jalowy (Probability Theory).

A computer that can calculate hundreds of scientific tasks simultaneously and thus helps provide a solution to key social challenges: this is the new IT heart of Paderborn University.
In the winter semester 2025/2026, 125 international students started their Master's degree programme at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. To welcome them to Paderborn University, the Welcome Days were held from 8-9 October.
The Institute of Computer Science at Paderborn University is presenting six new films that provide specific information about teaching at the institute. The first films are "Designing Code Analyses for Large-Scale Software Systems" by Prof. Dr. Eric Bodden, "Introduction to Human-Centered Machine Learning" and "Machine Learning for Biometrics" by Dr.-Ing. Philipp Terhörst and "Quantum Networks" by Dr. Zahra Raissi.
