Support for Talent - Programme EIM
Our faculty supports especially talented students with the Heinz-Nixdorf Programme. We want to support the development of our student´s personal and professional skills, and help them achieve an above average final degree in a short time scale.
The programme is carried out by the Institutes of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and contributes to an interdisciplinary exchange between participating students and working groups.
The programme consists of several elements:
- A challenging introductory seminar during winter semester
- Regular meetings
- Special events, e.g. lecture series, excursions for all the participants of all previous classes
We aim to acquaint our participants with study groups and research methods in a purposeful manner and at an early stage by:
- Participating in research projects in project works and dissertations or as a SHK (Student Assistant)
- Specific organisation of studies abroad and placements in industry and research establishments
Interested students can apply at the beginning of their third semester.
The selection process takes place every winter semester. The applicant carries out a pre-selection after a selection interview with two Professors of the faculty, and an oral presentation during the introductory seminar. Subsequently, the decision about the final admission will be made. The admission will be valid until the completion of the university degree (Bachelor), an extension during the Masters degree is possible.
The university will issue a certificate about the successful participation of the Heinz-Nixdorf Programme.
